Shopping

1. Go shopping in-store.

As convenient as online shopping is, you may order something where the fit is off, or it may be just plain ugly. The fact is that online shopping can convince you to buy things you don’t love, and it’s much smarter to go in store to make sure you get gorgeous pieces that fit well and that you love.

2. Wait until late October.

I know this seems crazy. Why would I wait until late October to buy back to school clothes? Well, because in September you can mostly wear your summer clothes, and they transfer over pretty easily. Once the colder weather rolls around, you can go out and invest in cute new boots, sweaters, and jackets, which will last you months longer than any true “Fall” clothing would.

3. You don’t have to always follow the trends.

Yes, I did just show you the big fall trends and where to get them. Yes, it is slightly hypocritical. As much as following trends is fun, you should never ever ever abandon your own sense of style to be trendy. As my favorite man Yves Saint Laurent once said, “Fashions fade, but style is eternal.”
