If you haven’t seen the new Calvin Klein ads then you’ve either been living under a rock or you don’t follow the fashion industry at all.
From the beginning, Calvin Klein has pushed the envelope in their advertising campaigns, veering towards the overtly sexual and suggestive. Remember 15-year-old Brooke Shields telling the world: “You wanna know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing.”
Calvin has continued to push the sexuality of their brand over the years, but nothing had topped Ms. Shields declaration of Calvin love in the view of the public. Until now.
The new Calvin ad campaign (print ads seen below, film for the campaign is at top) features same-sex and opposite-sex couples, as well as various groups. And, of course, real conversations from dating/hook-up apps like Tinder and Grindr.
What do you think? Has this ad pushed it too far, or is it just the push Calvin wanted to get more media coverage and public attention?
